At the full council meeting on 6th November 2019 Councillor Garth Harkness welcomed the Flood alleviation work on Delph New Road and asked for assurances on plans for flooding following recent wet weather

He said:

I welcome the current work taking place to address the flooding issue in Delph. This is something that local councillors have been pushing for some time.

With the heavy amount of wet weather we have experienced. Can I be reassured that the high risk areas across the borough have been inspected appropriately.

I also would like to know that our drains and gullies maintenance is up to speed and that those areas with high risk have an appropriate plan in place to avoid any potential devastation that might occur in the event of an unexpected flood
