Burglaries

As the above statistics highlight there have been a
spate of burglaries and thefts of motor vehicles in the
area. These incidents are often connected as criminals
frequently target addresses with high performance
vehicles, with Ford Fiestas being a repeat target. In
order to address this issue and to deter offenders,
your local team have increased high visibility and
covert patrols. These crimes most often occur during
the early hours of the weekend, thus your team has
also altered some of their shifts to cover these key
times. Several arrests and vehicle seizures have
already been made in connection with these
incidents.

Crime Prevention Advice:

 Be conscious to assure all windows and doors are
locked and secured at night.
 Keep vehicle keys away from doors and windows.
If your car is keyless consider keeping it in a
faraday bag.
 Consider security lights and investing in a visible
CCTV system. Ring doorbells are a popular option.

Speeding

The team have been conducting  regular speed checks over the whole Saddleworth & Lees area in response to complaints made by residents. Roads include, but are  by no means limited to: Uppermill Highstreet, Ripponden Road Denshaw, Manchester Road Greenfield, Doctors Lane Scouthead, Oldham Road Springhead and Stamford Road Lees. Both educational advice and enforcement where necessary have been used to tackle these issues.
