Honest campaigning. I will campaign strongly for Saddleworth’s interests, from green spaces to bus services, as I always have.  I will not vaguely ‘call for’ matters to be remedied but will tell you what I am doing about it.  If a scheme needs money, I will say where it is coming from.

Making things better. The Liberal Democrats will continue to bring proposals to every council meeting to improve life in our borough.  Our proposals passed in 2020 included 20mph speed limits, protecting people from harassment and domestic abuse, making our borough more disabled-friendly and lobbying government for a fair deal. 

Responsibility.  We will continue to shoulder a share of the tremendous burden of Covid-19 on our borough.  No other party has stepped forward to participate in the Gold Command group with Labour.  We are a critical friend but have supported extra Covid tracing and – unlike the local Conservatives’ interim leader – proposals for local economic recovery.
