Building Control officer met with the Mill Owner, Historical Society and Conservation officers this am, conclusive evidence from the aerial drone requires demolition of certain aspects of the building as deemed to be unsafe, all officers in agreement with this.

The mill owner is responsible for safety and security of the site and has instructed a contractor who is currently on site.

Residents at 8-10 Huddersfield road have been allowed back into their properties , but those residents living at 1-9 Station Approach will remain evacuated at least overnight and until the partial demolition has been completed. Our officers on site are updating those residents at present.

The roads currently remain closed but may open later this evening, there will continue to be a police presence this evening.
