Water companies pumped sewage into our rivers and lakes for more 13,372 hours last year.

The Conservatives are letting them get away with it and want taxpayers to pay to fix the problem. With the latest legislation passed by Government, they even allowed water companies to pollute our waters unchecked until 2035.

This affects our area: in Saddleworth, sewage flowed into the river Tame for thousands of hours last year – for 2,319 hours in Greenfield, and 1,887 hours in Delph; sewage from the Shaw main outfall went into the River Beal for 255 hours; sewage was dumped into the Medlock in Bardsley for thousands of hours; six separate overflows took sewage into Wince Brook in Foxdenton for hundreds of hours each.
